There will also be special performances on the Pop Up stages by name artists, including The Shires, CMA Award winning songwriters Jon Randall and Jessie Alexander (who are also featured in Friday night’s CMA Songwriters Series at indigo at The O2) and Ward Thomas - who made their C2C debut as a relatively unknown duo in 2014 but have since had a great year with singles playlisted at BBC Radio 2 and their first album, ‘From Where We Stand,’ entering the UK Top 50.

With less than two months to go, the C2C team are thrilled to announce that there will be a whole host of new activity across the country music filled weekend at The O2, London on 7 & 8 March 2015, including music on Pop Up stages from 11am and After Show Parties running until late.
Satellite Stage

In the arena for the very first time, we’ll be introducing a Satellite Stage which will be located behind the sound desks at the opposite end of the arena to the main stage. Four acoustic artists will be performing in-between the main stage acts (two on each day).

The first names to be announced are:

SAM HUNT - one of the hottest new artists to emerge in Nashville last year and whose debut No.1 was ‘Leave The Night On’. The former college football player was previously best known for writing hit singles for Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban and others.

THE SHIRES – the British duo who made their C2C debut as relative unknowns have had a great year, which included their debut single Nashville Grey Skies being playlisted on BBC Radio 2. Their debut album will be released in C2C week, on Mon March 2.

The Saloon

Another first this year is our new venue, The Saloon, which can be found in the WM Jazz Club at The O2 and will feature an intimate space for singer songwriters to perform and talk about their song-writing. C2C ticket holders are invited to come along, sit back, relax and enjoy the programme. The Saloon will include a Bob Harris curated programme by Under The Apple Tree Sessions with legendary Texan singer-songwriter Kimmie Rhodes, the up-and-coming Nashville singer-songwriter, Angel Snow, Ward Thomas and American singer Katie Armiger plus Woody Pines, Worry Dolls, Loud Mountains and the Goat Roper Rodeo Band.

C2C After Parties

As previously announced, the official C2C after parties will take place at Brooklyn Bowl at The O2. A surprise guest will perform each night and country music fans are invited to continue the festival spirit into the small hours. Hosted by country music DJ and radio/TV presenter; DJ Baylen Leonard, the doors to Brooklyn Bowl will open once the final main stage artist has waved goodbye to the crowds each night.

C2C is proud to present the Country Music Association (CMA) Songwriters Series, in London on Friday 6th March 2015 at indigo at The O2, with host Kix Brooks and featuring Brandy Clark, Sam Palladio, Jessi Alexander and Jon Randall.

The CMA Songwriters Series showcases the best of Country Music’s hit songwriters. The two-hour show presents the songwriters and artists together on stage, taking turns telling the stories behind their songs and performing them acoustically as originally written. With entertaining anecdotes and powerful performances, music fans have the opportunity to hear the stories, challenges, personalities and processes involved with writing songs that have become huge hits. In 2015, the CMA Songwriters Series will once again take place on the evening before C2C, a huge two-day music festival extravaganza at The O2 featuring an outstanding line up of music stars from across the Atlantic.

As one-half of country music’s most successful duo of all time, Kix Brooks is a multi-faceted entertainer with a long list of songwriting credits to his name. Brooks, whom Rolling Stone calls “one of the most versatile guys in country music,” is continuing his career as a solo touring/recording artist and songwriter while simultaneously exploring new paths including recently writing and producing the music for a full-length feature film. The acclaimed artist and entrepreneur has notched three CMA National Broadcast Personality of The Year wins for “American Country Countdown”, hosts his “Kickin It with Kix” radio show five nights, co-owns Nashville’s award-winning winery Arrington Vineyards and is a regular columnist for Country Weekly.

Brandy Clark has enjoyed great success as a ground-breaking songwriter and is now critically acclaimed as a singer too. She won the 2014 CMA Song of the Year A-ward for Kacey Musgraves’ “Follow Your Arrow,” which she co-wrote with Musgraves and Shane McAnally. Clark also co-wrote Miranda Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart” and The Band Perry’s “Better Dig Two”. Her debut album 12 Stories was named the Best Album of 2013 in any genre by New York Magazine. She will also perform at C2C at The O2 on Sat. March 7.

Sam Palladio is a very talented young Cornish actor who plays Gunnar Scott on the More4 TV series “Nashville” (with a most convincing American accent). Sam has also appeared in the BBC's "Episodes" alongside Matt LeBlanc. He is a singer-songwriter in real life and has a band that performs regularly in Nashville venues and has appeared on the Grand Ole Opry. Palladio was on the first-ever “Nashville” Concert Tour with many of his cast mates and performed in Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington DC

Jessi Alexander is one of Nashville’s most prolific and talented songwriters. She recorded for Columbia Records and released her debut album, Honeysuckle Sweet, in 2005 and enjoyed a couple of hits before changing course and focusing on a very successful career as a songwriter. She has co-written big hit singles for Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Miley Cyrus and more. She won the 2013 CMA Song of the Year Award for co-writing “I Drive Your Truck”, a No. 1 hit for Lee Brice. She is married to John Randall and their co-writes together include “Drink On It”, a No. 1 hit by Blake Shelton.

Jon Randall is a multi-talented Nashville-based singer, songwriter and musician. As a teenager in 1992, he won a Grammy Award as a member of Emmylou Harris & The Nash Ramblers, then forged a solo career beginning in 1995 when he was signed to RCA Records. He has four albums to his credit. He subsequently focused more on songwriting, winning the 2005 CMA Song of the Year Award for “Whiskey Lullaby”, which he co-wrote with Bill Anderson and was a hit for Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss. He is married to Jessi Alexander.

Tickets for the CMA Songwriters Series at indigo at The O2 go on sale Friday 12th December at 9am via www.AXS.com and www.gigsandtours.com
